About RINP
The Rhode Island Nurse Practitioner Council
is a coalition of nurse practitioners dedicated to the promotion
and practice of NP's in RI.
The RINP Council engages in activities that
include:
- Building and maintaining our membership;
- Communicating with our membership through
a quarterly newsletter;
- Promoting and marketing the role of the
NP by facilitating communication with consumers and other healthcare
professionals;
- Promoting representation of NP's in organizations
in the state affecting healthcare;
- Working jointly with RISNA and AANP to
monitor legislative actions affecting our practice both at the
state and national levels;
- Acting as a resource for legislative activities
and facilitating appropriate changes in the RI legislation that
will affect nurse practitioners;
- Acting as a resource for third party reimbursement
issues; provide a monthly forum for networking with other NP's;
- Offer educational programs promoting quality
health care and practice for consumers.
The RINP Council also publicizes employment
opportunities and acts as a resource for employment. Through
the quarterly newsletter updates
members on current and critical issues. Provides a monthly forum
to discuss council business and issues regarding practice.
Membership in the AANP as a group and supports
a representative to monitor legislative actions nationally. Declared
and celebrates RINP week during the first week in November. Supports
committees for education, legislation and public relations.
Maintains this Nurse Practitioner website.
Offer educational programs and grand round
dinners about current healthcare topics and treatment. Sponsors
an annual dinner in September for networking and to discuss plans
for the current year. In conjunction with the AANP, selects and
awards an NP of the year and an Outstanding NP Advocate of the
year.
